Please follow these tips directly from the City's website to help out the city fully collect our leaves:
What Should Residents Do to Help?
Rake leaves into the street no more than 2–3 days before your scheduled collection days.
Place leaves against the curb to help prevent clogged storm drains and possible street flooding or ice.
Have leaves ready before the first day of your neighborhood’s collection period.
Create long, narrow piles along the curb that do not block bike lanes or driving lanes.
Keep vehicles away from leaf piles so crews can reach them.
Leaves only—no branches, debris, or trash.
Trim tree branches to 14 feet above the street to allow safe equipment access (Missoula Municipal Code 12.32).
Keep piles away from storm drains to prevent flooding or ice hazards.
After City collection is complete, residents must dispose of any remaining leaves themselves.
Thank you!
